Dr Elizabeth Hemphill, Program Director, Bachelor of Business, School of Marketing, University of South Australia. Clinician, Davidson Trahaire Corpsych

Since commencing her academic career at the University of South Australia in 2004  Elizabeth has worked in the National Disability Insurance Agency (2013), Centacare Port Pirie Diocese (2014), Central Australian Aboriginal Congress and Mental Health Association of Central Australia – Suicide Assist (2015).  She has researched with governments, community groups and industry.   Her work is published in business, social policy, marketing and management academic journals and conference proceedings.

Her Disability Employment research was initially supported by an Australian Research Council Linkage Grant in partnership with Finding Workable Solutions Inc (SA).  She served as board member (and chair) with this disability employment service provider from 2008-2015 and now works closely with Baptist Care (Southern Adelaide) to consider solutions to long term unemployment.

Ms Penelope Twemlow, Chief Executive Officer, Energy Skills Queensland

Penelope is a multi-degree qualified professional with 16 years of management and consulting experience, including time in the Australian Defence Force.

Penelope’s communication, safety and management skills have been repeatedly sought out by companies involved in high-risk industries including the construction, mining, oil and gas sectors, for projects around the world.

In 2015, Penelope was named Chief Executive Officer of Energy Skills Queensland. Penelope is the Founder and Chair of Women in Power, as well as a number of energy associations focusing on safety and role of women in the energy industry. She is also the winner of the 2016 Queensland Telstra Business Women’s Award for Social Enterprise and Not-For-Profit.

A wicked sense of humour, exceptional learning agility and the ability to reverse park an 8,500 tonne warship all ensure that Penelope stands out in every crowd.

Dr Bernie Bishop, Career Change & Career Counsellor, Career Change

Dr. Bernie Bishop is a qualified career development practitioner and a Professional Member of the Career Development Association of Australia. He owns and manages ‘Career Change’, an organisation that aims to assist people contemplating a change in their career direction as well as those needing help with job search, resume and application writing and interview skills. In addition to working with clients in his own practice, he has also worked as a consultant career practitioner for organisations specialising in career counselling for university students; outplacement services; and employee assistance programs. Prior to establishing his career development practice he was an academic in the Griffith Business School.
