Workforce Diversity Policy

Workforce Diversity Policy and employment diversity are strategies for organisations that target at risk groups facing long term unemployment.

When developing workforce diversity policies there will be challenges and benefits for the organisation.

Whether they are a large, medium or small organisations there are opportunities to increase diversity.

These diverse group may include parents returning to work, people with a disability, Indigenous Australians, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, mature aged job seekers and more.

Some of the benefits for the organisation may include accessing motivated and reliable workers eager for an opportunity. Also there could be the potential to accessing skills that you may not have. There could be general improvement in staff morale by giving a disadvantaged job seeker a go. There could be increasing customer loyalty though stronger local community engagement. Workforce diversity policy can also be an innovative workplace solutions that could identify and retain talent.

An upcoming conference will be addressing Long Term Unemployment policies, strategies and outcomes. The call for papers is open and we welcome presentations on employment diversity.
